Last year, my post on designers wedding dresses was a hit (no, I don’t even exaggerate, so that I even wondered if my readers were all about to get married…) Hum, I suspected some of you to have read it just by curiosity, to dream a little bit (yeah, even if getting married doesn’t tempt us at all, we love wedding dresses). Certainly some reminiscences of childhood I bet. So this year, I wanted to make a shopping-list of made in France short wedding dresses. I realised that it’s still rare. For civil weddings, this can be a good alternative for those who don’t want to wear a long dress.
Alexa short dress by Atelier Anonyme. This dress is superb with its delicate bare back and its veil skirt. A way to use the wedding dress codes with lightness !
Sweet Dress by Sophie Sarfati (civile collection). A very simple dress with a beautiful lace. All models are manufactured in the Parisian workshop or in the north of France. A great choice of outfits for civil weddings.
Harpe Paris is the “by Mum and Me” Parisian brand which propose beautiful models with nice finish at low prices. No you’re not dreaming: this lovely dress, which is made in their Parisian workshop, costs 350 euros.
Jerry dress by Fabienne Alagama. As I was making searches for this post, I discovered Fabienne Alagama wedding dresses: I love their original touch and I has a crush for Jerry short dress !
Ah, Laure de Sagazan…I like her photos as much as her models: I want everything ! So I selected Diderot dress (civil collection) and Gary which are totally different. All models are manufactured in Paris.
Caroline Quesnel short dress: a simple and pure design highlighted with a lovely lace. I think it’s a great idea also that Caroline also imagined a wedding collection for pregnant women ! Her workshop is located next to Lyon.
Armance short dress by les Mariées de Provence. I truly like the hobo spirit of this dress. You can even visit their workshop in Istres: to know everything about your future dress !
Back to the 20s: Aimé dress by Mary Viloteau in silk satin. Mary Viloteau workshop is based in Bordeaux.
Salinger dress by Rime Arodaky. Interesting: Rime Arodaky doesn’t use any material derived from animal exploitation ot manufacture her wedding dresses: no fur, or wool, silk, feather or leather. Finally some midi- or ankle-length dresses for a more modern shape ! Rime Arodaky bridal is rock, chic ans quite sexy.
Vassili dress by Lorafolk (Civile Collection). I discovered the brand thanks to Instagram and I immediately liked its ability to bring modernity while using high-end material.
Alhama dress by Anne de Lafforest: 945€. A very simple, midi-length dress. I personally like the pleated part at the front. Have a look on the 2017 Collection: shapes are just wonderful ! ©Charlotte Studio
Laurence dress by Manon Pascual. Have a look on her 2017 collection: it’s superb. This work on silhouettes ! Couture Collection is manufactured in the workshop located close to Bordeaux.
Navarre dress by Créations Bochet: a midi-length dress which is superb. Other models are quite classical, but well mastered and don’t have too many frou-frous….The brand is based in Montauban.
Crush for Autumn model (1050€) by Elise Hameau, so simple and so nice. And still this mix of nonchalance and shape perfection in Elise Hameau’s creations….
Marie Laporte good idea: a short sheath dress: une robe fourreau courte. A mix of known codes: elaborate bustier, frou-frous at the bottom BUT a very short dress ! Have also a look on the models which are long behind and short in the front: so couture ! Marie workshop is based in Paris.
